Pink Floyd, performing The Wall at the LA Sports Arena, 2/80; musically sterile, but an unbeatable spectacle.

X, performing at some biker bar in Riverside, CA, ca. 1979; raw and out of control

The Ventures, at the Starwood in LA, 12/80; first US performance in 10 years

More recently, I was blown away by Will Bernard, Andy Hess, John Medeski and Stanton Moore last year at a Colorado gig.
